Several years ago I joined Sean McKeel’s “Knit Not War 1,0o0” project. I contributed 10 felted cranes, which became part of an installation in Portland Oregon. I’ve volunteered to contribute a square to his next installation You Are The Chosen One. Part of the project is to write a statement of why/how/for what you were chosen:
I was chosen by the most wonderful man in the universe to be his wife. I was chosen by the universe to be the mother of the two most amazing girls in the world. I (try to) choose to be the best person I can be every day.
I wish I’d been able to find less cutesy way to say it, but the sentiment is sincere.
In other news, I won the Vegan Craftastic Ohdessa Knits pattern giveaway, and have two beautiful and exciting patterns. She is now hosting a Butterfly Knits pattern giveaway, which I’m not entering because I just won the last one, buy you should definitely take a look!
Welcome new subscriber Steve of the Knit Steve blog. He’s put out a couple of really cute patterns of ‘flats’ – cute knitted shapes suitable to insert in greeting cards. Please check him out. You’ll find him in the friendly blogs list on the sidebar. Speaking of the friendly blogs list, Thea has moved from “That Yarn Store” to “Fibrous Creations”. She did this last month, and I didn’t even comment on it (sorry, Thea). While I’m at it, I should probably suggest (again) that you visit Thea’s Etsy Shop.
