I Don’t Like to Talk About My Flare
Not true, actually. I just like quoting Office Space about my flare. Astute readers may notice a new piece of Flare, because I’m going to join the Knitting and Crochet Blog Week, which is next week. The A to Z challenge went well enough, so I thought I’d jump in and try the next one.
Moving Right Along
The plan is that I will go on a ‘yarn diet’ over the summer. With the exception of one skein per vacation trip (my customary ‘yarn tourism’ thing) I won’t buy any more yarn until I buy the yarn for Aidez at the end of summer/beginning of fall, which will mark the beginning of winter knitting. Since it’s a bulky yarn, I expect to have the sweater done well before we hit the freezer…
Right now I’ve got four WIPs. The Dice Bag of Doom, the Stereo Cuffs, the TARDIS Socks and the Belle Greene shawl. I’m planning on using the Swanns Island Tigerlilly fingering weight for a Very Busy Monkey Tesla shawl. I’ve got the co-ordinating Cavey Family worsted weight from Sheep and Wool which will be either a hat or a bag. The Flying Goat cashmere (which also goes with the orange) will be something stranded and probably felted – also thinking hat or bag, but it might be really cute as mittens or cuffs.
If that doesn’t last long enough, I can work on the Bigger on the Inside shawl, using the Ashton Gallery wool with the glittery black as the Vortex section, and the blue for the TARDIS section (though I might go for a row of Daleks with just one TARDIS).
So, yeah, I expect I’ve got a good four months of knitting stashed away to make this work.
Blog Contests and Yarn Giveaways
I didn’t win the Red Heart package for May, or the pattern from Plutonium Muffins. I entered a drawing for a $25 gift card from Loopy Ewe (31 May).
