Or back to knitting, anyway.
I finished the TARDIS socks. I’m very happy with them, even if they are long enough to be very tight on the calves – not the pattern’s problem, just a result of my body type. In any case, they look wonderful, and will be quite wearable when the weather gets cool again – I’ll just push the tops down a smidge and it’ll all work out.
So now I’m just working on two projects. The Belle Greene knitted on beaded border and the Dice Bag of Doom. The shawl looks very much as it did in the last picture, but the dice bag is really shaping up.
I love the green of the Fiberoptic DK (Milkweed is the colorway), but I’ve got mixed feelings about the yarn itself. It’s not nearly as soft as I’d expect a merino to be, but it pills badly enough that I’ve had to take scissors to yarn-fluff-balls in order to detangle it. Given that the KnitPicks Diadem is the yarn I’m using for the inner bag, this project is rather um… sticky to work with. Still, it’ll be gorgeous once it’s done.
The inner bag won’t take nearly as long to knit up, then it’s just popping in the second eye, stitching the tentacles in place and I’m pretty much done. Once again, these are glow in the dark eyes from Creations by Devlin. I ended up using the 21mm size, which means that I’ll have two pairs of smaller ones which will need a home. I’m sure I’ll come up with something…
So with one project wrapping up, and another at the tv knitting stage, I’m starting to look over my Ravelry queue for figure out what’s really next. I’m still planning to knit down from stash. I’m thinking that I’ll use some SWTC Tofutsies I have to knit up socks which (theoretically) aren’t going to be too warm for summer wear, but I’ve got so much gorgeous yarn that I’m still waffling…
