Headfuls of Hats
So two of my last three finished objects have both been toddler hats with braided ties.
I already posted a picture of the Owl Earflap Hat, but as a reminder…
The braids are six strands of worsted weight yarn, and they’re perfectly functional.
Now I’ve finished the Nameless Dino hat, and it also has braided ties…
I just like these much better. They’re 24 strands of worsted weight yarn, and I really like the more substantial look. I don’t know how well they will function as ties, however.
The project I just finished was a baby hat. This one a free Pixie Hat, has crochet chain ties.
More skinny ties, aran weight yarn. Again, I like these better than the owl hat ties, and I am confident they’ll be functional.
So it’s not the skinniness of the Owl hats ties which disappoints me. Maybe I should have left it all one color? Oh, well, we live and learn.
Blog Contests and Giveaways
I didn’t win the cashmere yarn from Ewonee, the chocolate from Plutonium Muffins, or the Silverspun yarn from Hands Occupied. I entered to win the Brotherchicory Knits CD (drawing to be held when the post hits 50 likes) and a sweater pattern from Aphaia (14 November)
